Trail Steward Program

The trails don’t maintain themselves—and they don’t stay this fun by accident.

Every berm, cleared corner, and rideable line exists because someone put in the work. As a fully volunteer-run network, keeping trails safe, sustainable, and riding well takes consistent effort—and that’s where the community comes in.

To help support ongoing maintenance and improve the trail network, Ride NoCo is launching a Trail Stewards Program.

This program is designed for riders who want to take a more active role in caring for the trails they love. Whether you have a favorite trail you ride often, or you can’t always make scheduled trail days but still want to contribute, becoming a Trail Steward is a flexible and impactful way to get involved.

What Trail Stewards Do

Trail Stewards help keep specific trails in good condition throughout the season. Responsibilities may include:

  • Leaf blowing when needed

  • Keeping the trail corridor clear of branches and debris

  • Maintaining berms by removing loose material

  • Checking and clearing drainage features

  • Identifying and reporting trail issues

  • Supporting or helping lead trail days when available

Why Become a Trail Steward

  • Play a direct role in maintaining your favorite trails

  • Help improve trail safety and sustainability

  • Stay involved on your own schedule

  • Be recognized on the Ride NoCo website

  • Receive Ride NoCo merch

  • Work more closely with the board on trail planning and maintenance

Other Ways to Help

Not ready to commit to a specific trail? No problem. There are still plenty of opportunities to volunteer outside of scheduled trail days—whether that’s helping with smaller maintenance tasks or supporting projects as your availability allows.
